Assistive Technologies: Hardware and software solutions for people with physical, cognitive, and speech disabilities.  Assistive Technologies provide greater independence for those with disabilities by equipping them with the technology enhancements they need to perform tasks that they were not formerly able to accomplish.

Digital Imaging Technology: The creation of digital images, usually from a physical object such as a camera.  It includes processing, compression, storage, printing, and the display of these images. Digital Imaging Technology on the Mac will provide multiple ways to easily process and alter images.

Display & Boards: Options that increase visibility and help project completed work.  Crystal clear LCD Monitors are available as well as extensions to help extend their reach.  Video glasses make watching your iPod extremely easy, and digital projectors will enlarge images onto bigger screens for easier visibility.

FireWire: Apple's version of a very fast external bus that supports data transfer rates of up to 400 Mpbs.  It is a form of interface standard which provides high-speed communications and isochronous real-time data services.  Since Apple created FireWire, it works well with any Mac computer.

Input Device: Any piece of hardware used to provide data and control signals sent to an information processing system.  Typically, input devices for Mac computers include mice and keyboards, but Apple also offers touch screen monitors and mini keypads for added convenience.

Memory Accelerator: A quick download that will restore any memory leaks and allow your Mac to run more smoothly and efficiently.  Downloaded programs and memory leaks slowly slip into your computer, causing it to lose memory and run slower. Install a memory accelerator and get your Mac to run like new.

Mobile Computing: A term describing the ability to use technology untethered.  Apple introduced portable notebooks which allow mobile communication without being hooked up to a home line.  There are also portable wireless and FireWire cards, as well as backup systems and file sharing systems to make mobile computing as easy as possible.

Music and Audio Systems: Products offered by Apple which bring music to life on Mac Computers.  Speakers allow for clear music and iPod accessories create a life filled with music.  Apple's iTunes is also an excellent way for users to pick and choose their own music.

Printing: The process for reproducing text and images with ink on a piece of paper.  Macs offer basic or laser printers, as well as stamp creators and label printers.  It also offers a multifunctional printer which supports the printer, scanner, copier, and direct printer functions.

Servers and Networking:  Server communications are standard-based computing systems that operate as a common platform for a wide range of communication applications and allow equipment providers to add value at many levels of the system architecture.  With the Mac's Leopard Server, a server assistant and server preferences are available to easily configure networks safely and securely.

Storage and Drives:  Computer data storage refers to components and devices that retain digital data used for computing during an interval of time.  Macs offer hard drives which store encoded data, as well as drive enclosures that allow your storage system to hold any application, such as graphic designs and audio or video files.

USB:  Universal Serial Bus which allows many peripherals to be connected using a single interface socket with plug-and-play devices that let you to be connected and disconnected without rebooting your computer.  Mac USB Hubs provide power to low-consumption devices without the need for an external power supply.
