There are thousands of widget programs for your Mac that are used for everything from checking the weather to seeing what time it is in Australia. They are most commonly used for gathering information on your interests, such as special events, prices, music, entertainment, and much more.

You access your widgets through the dashboard of your Mac and add and subtract them as you see fit. There are actually quite a few already set up on your computer.
