Returns and Warranties

Our goal is to supply our customers with quality products at fair prices. We stand behind all of our products with a seven (7) day return and policy and a ninety (90) day hardware warranty.

General Policy Information

  • All terms begin the date your order is delivered, unless otherwise noted. Delivery dates are confirmed by carrier tracking information.
  • Coverage is established by starting a support ticket within the policy period.
  • We recommend you keep the original packaging for the duration of the warranty.
  • Data transfer/recovery is NOT a service we provide and we are not responsible for data that may be lost or damaged during transit, replacement or repair of the product.
  • Original shipping and handling charges are non-refundable.

Why do I need to start a support ticket?

This system allows us to provide the most efficient and effective support possible by ensuring every customer receives help in a timely manner, in the order it is requested. In many cases, there are simple troubleshooting steps that can resolve the problem. It also keeps a record of all correspondence, including access to any instructions sent that need to be followed at a later time, such as return information. If you are unable to start a support ticket within the policy period, call to notify us.

Warranty Policy

What is covered by the Standard Warranty?

The Standard Warranty covers repair of your product at our facility for a period of ninety (90) days. All warranty services are performed at our facility, unless otherwise noted.

What is not covered by the Standard Warranty?

The Standard Warranty does NOT cover:

  • Software, including the operating system.
  • Preventative or regular maintenance service such as, but not limited to; cleaning of fans, cleaning of power supplies, or problems caused thereby.
  • Failures caused by: physical or liquid damage, abuse, misuse, problems with electrical power, or failure to perform preventive maintenance service.
  • Unauthorized diagnostic and/or repair fees by third-party service providers.
  • Problems caused by using accessories, parts, or components not supplied and installed by us.
  • Missing or altered user data. (Customer is responsible for backing up data prior to service.)
  • Any cost associated with shipping a product to us for service.

What will mac of all trades do?

Upon delivery, at our sole discretion, we will do one of the following:

  • Exchange the product with an identical product.
  • Repair the product at no charge using new or refurbished replacement parts.

The replacement/repaired product assumes the remaining warranty or thirty (30) days from the date of delivery, whichever provides longer coverage.

In the event we cannot provide the above, we will:

  • Issue a store credit for the purchase price.
  • Refund the original purchase price of the product.

What if I purchased an Extended Warranty?

The Extended Warranty covers your mac of all trades product for defects in hardware for a period of one (1) or two (2) years. Under the Extended Warranty, we also cover round-trip shipping costs.

What will mac of all trades do?

Upon delivery, at our sole discretion, we will:

  • Exchange the product with an exact replacement.
  • Repair the product at no charge using new or refurbished replacement parts.

The replacement/repaired product assumes the remaining warranty or thirty (30) days from the date of delivery, whichever provides longer coverage.

In the event we cannot provide the above, we will:

  • Within ninety (90) days: Issue a store credit for the purchase price of the product plus the original shipping cost.
  • After ninety (90) days: Issue a store credit for the current selling price of the product (not to exceed the original purchase price) plus the original shipping cost.

Return Policy

You may return a product for any reason within the ninety (90) day standard warranty. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. In the rare event you receive a damaged or defective product, please see our DOA policy. All other hardware issues are covered under our Warranty Policy.

Refund
  • A refund of the original product purchase price will be issued if requested within seven (7) days.
  • A refund of the current product price (not to exceed the original purchase price) less a 15% restocking fee will be issued if requested thereafter, within ninety (90) days.

Store Credit

  • A store credit of the original product purchase price will be issued if requested within seven (7) days.
  • A store credit of the current purchase price (not to exceed the original product purchase price) will be issued if requested thereafter, within ninety (90) days.

Exclusions

  • Returns are not eligible for refund or exchange after ninety (90) days, however, most products are eligible for buyback. See macmeanoffer.com for details.
  • Software is eligible for refund only prior to delivery. After delivery, it may be exchanged in accordance with our DOA policy.
  • Extended Warranties are eligible for refund only if we have not provided warranty service and the product is within the ninety (90) day Standard Warranty.
  • Gift Certificates are eligible for refund only if unused and requested within seven (7) days. Partially used gift certificates are not eligible for refund.

Price Protection Policy

Prices on the used computer market fluctuate based upon supply and demand. Mac of all trades will, upon request, honor any price change meeting the conditions below.

Price increase before purchase

Mac of all trades will issue a refund in the amount of the price difference of any item meeting the following conditions:

*Note: We recommend placing an order to reserve your product. We do not have an endless supply of equipment and this will ensure you get the product you want. We can easily adjust your invoice and ensure you are charged the correct price.
  • Customer has notified mac of all trades within seven (7) days of the price change.
  • Configuration (i.e. model, RAM, hard drive, etc) and condition must be the same.
  • Price change is not the result of a discontinued special.
*Note: If a "Deal of the Day" is discontinued before date specified, the original price will be honored, provided all other conditions apply.

Price drop after purchase

Mac of all trades will issue store credit in the amount of the price difference of any item meeting the following conditions:

  • Customer has notified mac of all trades within seven (7) days of the order date.
  • Configuration (i.e. model, RAM, hard drive, etc) and condition must be the same.
  • Price change is not the result of a discontinued special.
How do I receive my refund/store credit?

To receive a store credit/refund, please email Customer Service to start a support ticket. Upon confirmation that the item meets the conditions above, we will confirm the store credit/refund.

Damaged/Defective on Arrival (DOA) Policy

Our DOA Policy covers situations in which a product is received damaged or defective. We perform extensive testing of your product and package it for safe transit. Unfortunately, there is no test that tells us exactly when a part will fail. You must notify us within three (3) days of delivery. Hardware issues reported thereafter fall under our Warranty Policy.

  • Start a support ticket to notify us of the issue within three (3) business days.
  • Please take pictures of the product and packaging if your order arrives damaged.
  • If the product needs to be returned for replacement or repair, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label and ship the replacement/repaired product to you at no cost.

Apple Warranties

Some products we sell may still have remaining Apple warranty coverage (Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare or AppleCare+).

What will mac of all trades do?

  • These products are covered by Apple as the sole service provider until warranty expiration, at which time the remainder of our Standard Warranty (or Extended Warranty, if purchased) applies.

Exclusions and Limitations

Warranties apply only to hardware products purchased from mac of all trades (MOAT), as identified by \ serial number. Warranties do not apply to any software, even if packaged or sold with hardware. MOAT is not liable for any damage to or loss of any programs, data, or other information stored on any media, or any non-Apple product or part not covered by this warranty. Recovery and reinstallation of system and application software and user data are not covered under warranty. This warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication, or peripherals; (b) to damage caused by service performed by anyone not approved by MOAT, or (c) if any Apple serial number has been removed or defaced.

THESE WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, REMEDIES AND CONDITIONS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. MOAT SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IF MOAT CANNOT LAWFULLY DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES UNDER THESE WARRANTIES, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY.

No MOAT employee is authorized to make any modification, extension, or addition to this warranty.

MOAT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY OR CONDITION, OR UNDER ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, DOWNTIME, GOODWILL, DAMAGE TO OR REPLACEMENT OF EQUIPMENT AND PROPERTY, ANY COSTS OF RECOVERING, REPROGRAMMING, OR REPRODUCING ANY PROGRAM OR DATA STORED IN OR USED WITH PURCHASED PRODUCTS, AND ANY FAILURE TO MAINTAIN THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF DATA STORED ON THE PRODUCT. MOAT SPECIFICALLY DOES NOT REPRESENT THAT IT WILL BE ABLE TO REPAIR ANY PRODUCT UNDER THIS WARRANTY OR MAKE A PRODUCT EXCHANGE WITHOUT RISK TO OR LOSS OF PROGRAMS OR DATA
