Intel iMac
This desktop took
iMac computers to the next level. Previous Macintosh desktops have always used a PowerPC processor, but the
Intel iMac was the first to use processors by Intel, the leading provider of processors for all of the iMac's competitors. This allowed both Mac and PC applications to be run on this computer. The
Intel Core Duo iMac came first, followed by the
Intel Core 2 Duo iMac, and both models set higher standards for speed and performance. The aesthetics of the computer changed, but only minimally, with the biggest difference being the black bordered glass. If you need a desktop computer with quality performance and a compact design, the
Intel iMac would be best.
