Dr. Bott's ExtendAIR Omni is an Apple-certified external antenna that expands the range of Apple's AirPort Extreme Base Station (antenna port require d).

ExtendAIR was developed to provide the maximum range for AirPort clients while maintaining the typical Apple look and feel.

In a standard office/home environment ExtendAIR Omni increases the effective range of AirPort to approximately 75 m (250 ft).*

ExtendAIR connects to the available antenna connector built-in to AirPort Extreme Base Station (antenna port require d).

ExtendAIR require s no configuration as the AirPort Extreme Base Station automatically recognizes it when connected and switches existing clients to take advantage of the attached antenna. All the features of the built-in antenna are available through ExtendAIR.

An AirPort Extreme Base Station with ExtendAIR Omni can cover approximately 3 times the area covered by the base station alone.*

ExtendAIR Omni includes a base that is configurable for either desktop or wall-mount configurations while keeping the antenna in the optimal vertical orientation.

While optimal performance will be achieved in obstruction-free locations, ExtendAIR can be used to more effectively service AirPort clients that are receiving less than optimal performance from the built-in antenna.

ExtendAIR allows the small business to get the most out of its AirPort Extreme Base Station. ExtendAIR allows for a wide radius of coverage in semi-open office space and ensures the best reception for all AirPort clients around the office.

Campus

ExtendAIR can be used to provide more wireless coverage with fewer AirPort Base Stations. ExtendAIR Omni with Apple's AirPort Extreme Base Station covers an area that would normally require three base stations without external antennas. ExtendAIR makes it much more affordable for institutions that provide large areas with wireless coverage.

Dr. Bott's ExtendAIR Omni is a +3.5 dBi external antenna that provides azimuthal coverage with 2-element diversity. The area covered by ExtendAir Omni is 220% of the area covered by the base station alone - to cover the same contiguous area you must arrange 3 base stations without antenna with a certain amount of overlap*.

*Performance numbers are for typical use, range may vary with site conditions. Typically 11 Mbit/s are maintained at 75 m from the AirPort Extreme base station - more than 10 times the range of 11 Mbit/s connections in the original AirPort Base Station. Note that 802.11g compatible products must be used in order to obtain these speeds. 802.11b range will also be extended, with unchanged transfer rates.
